What is it?
Jewelry Re-Design is when our customer would like to use the diamonds and or precious metal from their fine jewelry into a new piece with a fresh look. Whether they had inherited some fine jewelry from their parent, grandparent, relative or ancestor, and would like to wear the jewelry for a normal everyday fashion, we can help you with the re-design.
How does it work?
Our Jewelry Re-Design has a similar process like our regular 3D custom design process. The only difference is that we will start the design based on the shape, size, and number of gemstones that your old jewelry has. We will propose to you with a new design concept for your approval. You might end up using all of the material from your old jewelry or you might end up with some extra that you can use to do something else such as an earrings or a necklace. Below outline the design process:
Step 1:
After you approve the design and price quote, we will start to design your new jewelry and then send you realistic render pictures for approval. If you don't like anything, we will keep revising it until you like it.
Step 2:
After you approve the render picture, we will proceed to 3D print out the jewelry model out for you to see in person. (For non-local customers, please email us if you would like to see the model.) At this stage, if you don't like anything about the model, we will keep changing it until you like it.
Step 3:
Only after you approve the model do we go ahead and proceed to cast the jewelry in the metal of your choice and set the gemstones if applicable.
What do I do with some extra material that is not used in the new design?
Many times, our customer only use the center stone of a ring or jewelry and left with a jewelry setting that does not have a center stone. In this case, our customer can choose to sell the unwanted parts and be credited toward the new item purchase or they can keep it for later use. They can also use some part of the item for other jewelry pieces such as earring, necklace, or a matching wedding band if the item allowed.
How long does the process takes?
The whole process takes anywhere between 1 to 7 weeks depending on the design and the season. Some season we are busier than others so it is based on first come first serve. On average, it takes around 2-4 weeks.
